Asian ethylene plunges last week from bearish demand

Ethylene prices plunged in Asia in the last week ended Jan 22 due to bearish product demand in the region.

In Korea, average prices declined by US$ 75/ton or 7.11 per cent and were quoted at US$ 980/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In Japan, average prices dropped by US$ 70/ton and were assessed at US$ 975/ton in the last week, down 6.70 per cent as against its prior week.

In SE Asia, average prices descended by US$ 70/ton and were offered at US$ 985/ton in the last week, a decrease of 6.64 per cent vis-à-vis its earlier week.

In NE Asia, average prices decreased by US$ 65/ton or 6.25 per cent from its previous week and were spotted at US$ 975/ton in the last week.

In India, average prices dipped by US$ 70/ton and were witnessed at US$ 985/ton in the last week, down 6.64 per cent versus its prior week.
