Asian ethylene prices show mix movement earlier week

Despite higher upstream energy values, ethylene prices declined in Korea, Japan and India in the earlier week.
 
In Korea, average prices fell by US$ 15/ton and assessed at US$ 1250/ton in the last week as against the previous week, a decline of 1.19 per cent.
 
In Japan, average prices edged low by US$ 15/ton to US$ 1245/ton in the last week, a slip of 1.19 per cent over the week before.
 
In India, average prices moved down by US$ 10/ton while settling at US$ 1155/ton in the last week, a reduction of 0.86 per cent over the price prevailing at the end of the previous week.
 
The average prices in NE Asia went up by US$ 10/ton to a total of US$ 1280/ton, an increase of 0.79 per cent over the earlier week, because of strong market condition in the region.
