PTA prices plunged in Asia in the last week ending Aug 29 from sluggish demand in the region coupled with ample availability.

In SE Asia, average prices slipped by US$ 33/ton and were quoted at US$ 567/ton in the last week, down 5.50 per cent as against its prior week.
In India, average prices dropped by US$ 32/ton and were offered at US$ 573/ton in the last week, a decrease of 5.29 percent versus its earlier week.
In China, average prices declined by US$ 40/ton or 6.90 per cent from its previous week and were spotted at US$ 540/ton last week.
