A new ethylene plant started production recently in Korla city in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR), according to the Dushanzi Petrochemical Company of PetroChina, the country’s largest oil and gas producer. The project is expected to have an annual production capacity of 600,000 tonnes. Its construction began in April 2019, with an investment of $1.24 billion.
The plant has adopted technologies to reduce oxynitride emissions to levels far below the national emission limit, according to an official news agency.
