South Korea based Lotte Chemical plans to shut its aromatics plant in Yeosu for maintenance in the last week of May.

“The aromatics plant is likely to be shut around May 25 to change a catalyst. Normally it takes five days to change the catalyst, but the plant may stay off-stream for more than a week,” a Lotte official told fibre2fashion.

The aromatics plant has a solvent-grade mixed xylene capacity of 60,000 mt/year, benzene capacity of 236,000 mt/year and toluene capacity of 120,000 mt/year.

The plant is currently operating at 100% production capacity.
