Taiwan-based Nan Ya Plastics plans to restart line no-4 of its monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant in end-May.

“MEG line no-4 which was shut in the first week of April 2013 for a maintenance turnaround, may restart by end-May,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The MEG plant located in Mailiao has four lines. Line no-1, 2 and 3 each have a capacity of 360,000 tons per annum, while line no-4 has a capacity of 720,000 tons per annum.

When quizzed on turnarounds at the other three MEG lines, the spokesperson said that they have not currently decided on the same, but may do so after three months.

The spokesperson also added that the three MEG lines are currently operating at 100 percent capacity rates.
