Ethylene prices increase in global markets

The prices of ethylene increased in major markets of Asia, Europe and U.S.A during the fortnight ending June 30, 2013.
 
In Asian markets, ethylene prices increased by 6.69 percent, in line with improved buying sentiments, coupled with bullish support from the downstream market.
 
The average price of ethylene in the Far East Asian market increased during the fortnight compared to the prices of previous fortnight that ended on June 15, and were offered in the range of US$ 1180/ton to US$ 1185/ton.
 
In the Southeast Asian market, ethylene prices were in the range of US$ 1280/ton to US$ 1285/ton during the fortnight ending June 30.
 
In European and U.S.A markets, ethylene prices increased due to firm feedstock prices coupled with strong downstream demand.
 
In Europe, ethylene prices rose by 7.14 percent and were assessed at US$ 1275/ton on June 30, while in U.S.A market prices increased by 5.56 percent and were offered in the range of 56.50 cents/pound to 57.50 cents/pound.
