China-based Dragon Aromatics is planning to start commercial operations at two new PX plants in 2013.

According to a Dragon Aromatics official, who spoke to fibre2fashion, “One PX plant will start operations in August-September and the other somewhere in the last quarter of 2013 at Gulei, Fujian province, China.”

He added, “Trial runs at the plants commenced in April (using secondary feedstock isomer-grade mixed xylenes) and June, respectively.”

He further informed that they have many ways to produce PX and producing it from secondary feedstock isomer-grade MX is only one of the ways.

The PX production capacity of each of the plants is 800,000 mt/year.
