Japan Polypropylene operates PP plant at reduced capacity

Japan Polypropylene is currently operating its Kashima-based polypropylene (PP) plant at a lower capacity.
 
“The PP plant is operating at 80 percent production capacity levels due to weak demand in the region,” a company spokesperson told fibre2fashion.
 
The PP plant a production capacity of 550,000 mt/year.
 
The company does not have any maintenance turnaround plan for the Kashima plant in immediate future, the spokesperson said.
 
Japan Polypropylene Corporation succeeded the polypropylene business of Japan Polychem and JNC Petrochemical Corporation and has been established as the largest polypropylene company in Japan.
 
Polypropylene, also known as polypropene, is used in a variety of applications including textiles and carpets.
