The South Korea based Lotte Chemical is operating its Yeosu-based monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant at reduced rates.

“The MEG plant is operating at 40 percent operating rates due to weak demand and lower prices of MEG,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The plant will have its maintenance turnaround probably by the end of this year or in the next year, according to the official.

The MEG plant has three lines with a combined production capacity of 400,000 mt/year.

Lotte Chemical specializes in production of basic petrochemical materials, intermediates, synthetic resins, synthetic-fiber raw materials, etc.
