Nan Ya Plastics has shut its Mailiao-based No.2 monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant for safety inspection.

“Due to a government order for safety inspection, the plant was shut on August 23,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The plant is likely to remain close for around 40 days.

The No.2 MEG plant has 360,000 mt/year of production capacity.

Nan Ya Plastics is a leading manufacturer of polyester fibres, and is also one of the world’s largest manufacturers of secondary plastics in terms of production capacity.
