Polypropylene prices dip marginally in Middle East region

Prices of Polypropylene declined marginally in the Middle East region to US$ 1435-1445/ton during the week ending August 24, 2013. During the fortnight ending August 15, prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1440-1445/ton, compared to US$ 1430-1435/ton during the fortnight ending July 31.
 
In the Far East Asian region also, Polypropylene prices decreased marginally to US$ 1450-1460/ton during the week ending August 24. During the fortnight ending August 15, prices had risen by about one percent to US$ 1455-1460/ton, from prices of about US$ 1435-1440/ton assessed during the fortnight ending July 31.
 
In South Korea, Polypropylene prices increased during the week ending August 24 to US$ 1485/ton. During the fortnight ending August 15, prices remained stable at US$ 1480/ton due to moderate buying sentiments in the region.
 
Meanwhile, prices of Polypropylene remained stable in India during the week ending August 24 and prices were assessed at Rs. 105-110/kg. 
 
In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Polypropylene surged three percent during the fortnight ending August 15 and were quoted in the range of RMB 11145/ton, compared to prices of RMB 10770/ton quoted during the fortnight ending July 31.
 
During the fortnight ending August 15, prices of Polypropylene surged by three percent in Europe to €1365-1370/ton and by six percent in the US to 75-80 cents/pound, due to increased feedstock prices.
