Japan Polypropylene Corporation, the largest polypropylene (PP) company in Japan, has shut one of its three PP lines at Kashima, Japan.

“One PP line with capacity of 300,000 mt/year has been shutdown for maintenance turnaround since end of August, 2013,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

“The PP line is expected to restart in mid-October,” the official added.

The other two PP lines at Kashima have production capacities of 100,000 mt/year and 150,000 mt/year, and both are currently operating at above 90 percent operating rates.
