Paraxylene prices decline in Europe last week

Paraxylene (PX) prices declined in Europe in the week ending September 20 by 1.31 percent compared to the fortnight ending September 15 to US$ 1380-1385/ton.
 
PX prices in the US remained stable during September 16-20 period and were quoted at US$ 1450/ton in the last week.
 
In the week ending September 20, PX prices declined by 1.04 percent to 1.37 percent in Southeast Asian and Far East Asian countries respectively in the last week compared to the fortnight ending September 15, due to lower upstream energy rates as well as downstream product prices.
 
In Southeast Asian markets, PX prices were assessed at US$ 1485-1490/ton in the last week ending September 20, which were at US$ 1500-1505/ton in the last fortnight ending September 15. On September 21, prices were assessed at US$ 1480/ton CFR.
 
In Far East Asian markets, average PX prices were traced at US$ 1460-1465/ton in the last week ending September 20, however it was at US$ 1480-1485/ton in the fortnight ending September 15. Prices were assessed at US$ 1460/ton FOB on September 21.
 
In Taiwan, PX prices increased marginally by 0.17 percent in the week ending September 20 and were quoted in the range of US$ 1500-1505/ton.
