Propylene buying remains muted in Asian markets last week

The buying of Propylene by downstream industries remained muted in Asian markets last week on account of Mid-Autumn festival in China and other countries.
 
In Korea and Japan, Propylene prices remained stable in the week ending September 20 and average prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1400-1405/ton.
 
During the same week, average prices of Propylene increased by 2.81 percent in Southeast Asia to US$ 1395/ton, compared to prices of 1355-1360/ton recorded in the fortnight ending September 15.
 
In Europe, Propylene price rose by 2.19 percent to US$ 1120/ton in the week ending September 20, compared to prices of US$ 1095/ton registered in the fortnight ending September 15.
 
In the US market, Propylene prices fell marginally during the week ending September 20 and prices were assessed around 56-57 cents/pound.
 
On September 21, Propylene prices remained stable in Asia and the US, whereas they dipped by €10/ton in Europe.
