ACN prices on slight upward spree in Far East Asia

Acrylonitrile (ACN) prices are showing a slight upward trend in Far Eastern and Southeast Asian markets. During the fortnight ending September 30, ACN prices increased by 0.38-0.45 percent to US$ 1855/ton in the Far Eastern and Southeast Asian markets to US$ 1855/ton, compared to prices of US$ 1845-1850/ton observed during the fortnight ending September 15.
 
Continuing the slight upward momentum, ACN prices were assessed at US$ 1865/ton in Far East Asia and US$ 1870/ton in Southeast Asia on October 3.
 
In the Chinese domestic market, average ACN prices during the fortnight ending September 30 were assessed at RMB 13650/ton, a decline of 0.73 percent from average prices of RMB 13750/ton during the fortnight ending September 15. 
 
In the US, ACN prices were at US$ 1780/ton in the fortnight ending September 30, up 0.28 percent compared to the earlier fortnight due to improved downstream demand.
 
In the European market, ACN prices stayed steady at US$ 1815/ton due to firm buying sentiment.
