Taiwan's OUCC operates MEG plant at lower capacity

Taiwan-based Oriental Union Chemical Corporation (OUCC) is currently operating it monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant at lower capacity.
 
“The plant is running at 90 percent operating rate due to lower demand,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
 
The MEG plant, located at Lin Yuan, has a capacity to produce 250,000 mt/year of MEG.
 
Founded in 1975, OUCC is a major supplier of ethylene glycol and ethylene oxide derivatives in Taiwan and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
 
MEG is used as a raw material in the production of polyester fibre.
