Taiwan-based China Petrochemical Development Corporation (CPDC), one of the top 10 Acrylonitrile (ACN) manufacturers in the world, has restarted its Da-Sheh based ACN plant last weekend.

The plant was shut for maintenance turnaround on October 25, 2013.

“The ACN plant with production capacity of 240,000 mt/year is presently operating at 90 percent capacity,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

Established in 1969 as a state-owned enterprise, CPDC was privatized in 1994. Besides ACN, the company also produces Caprolactam (CPL), Glacial Acetic Acid (GAC), Nylon Chip and Ammonium Sulfate (AS).

CPDC is the sole manufacturer of CPL in Taiwan and is among the top 5 nylon-6 raw material suppliers in the world. It is one of the two ACN manufactures in Taiwan.
