Propylene November prices rise y-o-y in Korea

The prices of propylene have increased significantly in November 2013 in South Korea compared to a year ago period. In November 2012, the average propylene price was US$ 1285/ton, while the average price last month was US$ 1410/ton, showing a rise of 9.73 percent.
 
During the last fortnight ending November 30, 2013, propylene prices declined in Asia due to ample product availability and softer buying interest in the region, whereas they increased in Europe due to improved downstream demand coupled with tight product availability.
 
In Far East and Southeast Asia, average propylene price during the fortnight ending November 30 was US$ 1415/ton and US$ 1375/ton respectively. On December 5, propylene price in Southeast Asia was assessed at US$ 1370/ton.
 
In Europe, average propylene price in the fortnight ending November 30 was € 1040/ton, up 0.97 percent over average price of € 1030/ton in the previous fortnight ending November 15.
 
In the US, average propylene price in the last fortnight dropped marginally, compared to the previous fortnight.
