PX price rises marginally in Southeast Asia last fortnight

The average price of paraxylene (PX) increased marginally by 0.35 percent to US$ 1435/ton in S E Asia during the fortnight ending December 31, 2013, compared to the previous fortnight ending December 15, 2013. However, price fell again and was assessed at US$ 1410/ton on January 8, 2014.
 
In Korea, average PX price in December 2013 was US$ 1415/ton, down 11.92 percent compared to the December 2012 average price of US$ 1605/ton.
 
In the fortnight ending December 31, 2013, PX prices remained stable at US$ 1415/ton in F E Asia.
 
In the Chinese international market, PX prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1430/ton to US$ 1435/ton in the first half of last fortnight. In the second half, selling offers remained steady.
 
In Europe and US, PX prices remained steady at US$ 1315/ton and US$ 1320/ton, respectively, during the fortnight ending December 31, 2013.
 
PX contractual prices for December settled at € 1055/ton FD N W Europe. This price represents a roll over from November levels.
