Keiyo Ethylene Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan’s Maruzen Petrochemical Co. Ltd., is planning to conduct maintenance turnaround at its Ichihara, Chiba-based naphtha cracker later this year.

“The maintenance shutdown is likely in May this year and it will last for around one and a half months,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The naphtha cracker has a production capacity of 740,000 mt/year.

When asked about the current operating rate, the official informed that the naphtha cracker is currently operating at more than 90 percent capacity, as margins are good on petrochemical products.

Keiyo Ethylene is engaged in production, processing, sale and purchase of ethylene, propylene and other basic petrochemical products.
