Propylene prices decline in Asian markets last fortnight

The average price of propylene declined in Asian markets in the last fortnight ending March 15, 2014, compared to the previous fortnight ending February 28, due to bearish buying sentiments in the region.
 
In Korea, the average price of propylene in the last fortnight was US$ 1380/ton, which was a decrease of 1.96 percent compared to the previous fortnight’s average price of $1405/ton. The declining trend continued and the price was assessed at $1355/ton on March 21, 2014.
 
Compared to the corresponding fortnight of last year, the average price of propylene in Korea in the last fortnight increased by 3.18 percent, as the average price was $1335/ton during the same period of 2013.
 
In Far East Asia, the average price of propylene decreased by 2.85 percent to $1365/ton in the last fortnight, as against the average price of $1405/ton recorded in the previous fortnight.
 
In Southeast Asia, the average price of propylene decreased marginally by 0.38 percent to $1325/ton, vis-à-vis the average price of $1330/ton in the previous fortnight. On March 21, 2014, price was assessed at US$ 1335/ton.
 
In Europe, the average price of propylene went up by 0.9 percent to €1120/ton in the last fortnight, compared to the average price of €1110/ton in the previous fortnight, due to limited availability of product in the region.
 
In US, the average propylene price increased marginally to 61.00 cents/pound, due to improved buying sentiments in the last fortnight.
