Taiwan-based China Petrochemical Development Corporation (CPDC), which is one of the top ten global acrylonitrile (ACN) producers, is going to shut its two ACN lines for maintenance turnaround.

“We have 2 ACN lines at Kaohsiung, of which, one line would be shut in late April 2014 for maintenance turnaround, and the other line would be shut in early May 2014. Both lines would remain closed for about seven days,” a company official informed fibre2fashion.

The ACN lines have capacities of 120 kt/year each, and the total ACN capacity of both lines is 240 kt/year.

ACN is used as a raw material for acrylic fibre.

CPDC is one of the top two ACN manufacturers in Taiwan.
