JFE Chemical Corporation, a division of Japan’s JFE Group, is currently operating its benzene plant at reduced capacity.

“The benzene plant is currently operating at around 70 percent of its production capacity, owing to weak demand fundamentals,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

Located in China Prefecture, East Japan, the plant has a capacity to produce 150,000 mt/year of benzene.

“The plant would be shut for its annual maintenance turnaround from mid-September to October this year,” the official informed.

The maintenance schedule of the Chiba benzene plant is usually carried out in September-October every year.
