May Asian PX trends marginally up from April

Asian Paraxylene (PX) prices in May grew marginally from those witnessed in April. In the month of May, PX prices touched US$ 1200/ton, up US$ 10/ton or 0.63% against US$ 1190/ton FOB Korea in the previous month. 
 
PX prices increased in tandem with robust buying sentiments in the global market, coupled with firm energy value during the month. 
 
Sinopec settled its PX contractual prices at RMB 8,900/ton for May delivery. JX Nippon Oil & Energy nominated its June PX contract prices for Asian markets at US$ 1290/ton which was up by US$ 90/ton from May contract prices.
 
ExxonMobil and Idemitsu nominated its June PX contract prices for Asian markets at US$ 1300/ton and US$ 1330/ton, respectively. 
 
Currently, PX prices are assessed at US$ 1260-1280/ton in Asian market, while the prices are in the range of US$ 1170-1180/ton in Europe and US markets.
