Ethylene prices down in Asia, up in Europe last week

Ethylene prices went down in Asia last Friday due to weak demand for downstream products coupled with ample availability and sluggish downstream demand in the region.

In F E Asia, prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1365-1370/ton on Friday, down by US$ 5/ton as compared to US$ 1370-1375/ton in the beginning of the week.

In S E Asia, prices were quoted at US$ 1415/ton on Friday, lower by US$ 15/ton as compared to US$ 1430/ton on Monday 9th June, 2014.

However, prices remained steady on Saturday.

In the European domestic market, prices went up to € 1015/ton on Friday, higher by 4.64% as compared to € 970/ton on Monday 9th June, 2014.
