In the early days of the week, prices were at US$ 1300/ton, higher by US$ 25/ton as compared to the same period of its previous week and during the week prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1300-1340/ton FOB Korea.
In Japan, Benzene prices showed similar trend as Korea last week. Speculators assessed the spot prices of Benzene in the range of US$ 1305-1345/ton CFR Japan.
In India, Benzene prices showed similar trend as Korea and Japan in the week under review. Benzene prices were spotted in the range of US$ 1310-1350/ton CFR India.
In Europe, Benzene prices too surged last week due to higher Benzene prices in US and Europe. Supporting the price rise were higher upstream energy prices and downstream product prices.
In the initial days of week, prices were at US$ 1330/ton, higher by US$ 5/ton as compared to the same period of its previous week. During the week, prices were spotted in the range of US$ 1330-1375/ton FOB Rotterdam. Contract prices for the month of June were settled at € 977/ton CIF ARA, lower by € 71/ton as compared to the contract prices of May.
In US too, Benzene prices showed similar trend as in Asia and Europe last week. Prices were assessed in the range of 450-475 (cents/gallon) FOB US. Contract prices for the month of June were settled at US$ 4.48/gallon, lower by 9 (cents/gallon) as compared to that of May.
