Asia propylene prices up this week from firm energy trends

Propylene prices inched up higher this week in Asia due to firmer energy prices and improved downstream demand in the region.

Propylene average prices which hovered in the range of US$ 1350-1355/ton in the week ending June 14 in Korea went up this week to US$ 1365/ton.

In Japan, prices showed similar trend. In the last week, propylene average prices were around US$ 1345/ton, increased this week to US$ 1350/ton.

In India too, average prices which were at US$ 1260/ton last week, went up to US$ 1310/ton in this week.

Propylene prices are expected to go up in the next week due to strong demand for downstream products in key markets of the Asian region.
