Japan-based Nippon Shokubai is currently operating both its Ethylene Oxide (EO) plants at Kawasaki at full capacities.

“Both the Chidori and Ukishima EO plants at Kawasaki are currently operating at 100 percent production capacity due to good demand for EO,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The Chidori and Ukishima plants have a capacity to produce 165,000 mt/year and 160,000 mt/year of EO, respectively.

The two plants have a combined capacity to produce 150,000 mt/year of Monoethylene Glycol (MEG). In addition to EO, these plants produce Ethylene Glycol (EG) and other derivatives like Ethanolamines (EA) and Glycol Ether (GE).
