Chinese Nylon chips trends weak in last fortnight

In the beginning of last fortnight ending June 30, trading activity in the Chinese Nylon chips market was weak with very few deals being closed.

In the first half of fortnight under review, selling offers for high speed spinning semi dull textile grade Nylon chips opened in Chinese domestic markets in the range of RMB 18,980/ton to RMB 19,900/ton and few deals were also concluded around RMB 19,900/ton.

In the second half of the fortnight, prices were in the range of RMB 18,980/ton to RMB 19,900/ton, but deals were mainly concluded in the range of RMB 18,900/ton to RMB 18,950/ton.

Average prices of Nylon chips in China imported from Taiwanese port declined marginally in the last fortnight due to pessimistic market fundamentals and were assessed at US$ 2510/ton, as compared to US$ 2520/ton in its previous fortnight ending June 15.

Prices of semi dull textile grade Nylon chips on 3rd July were assessed in the range of US$ 2500-2520/ton.

Chinese Nylon chips prices have decreased to US$ 2515/ton in June 2014, compared to US$ 2690/ton, down 6.51% from same period of last year.

In June 2014, price of Nylon chips decreased from US$ 2520/ton to US$ 2510/ton, a decrease of 0.40%.
