Benzene trends decline across global markets last week

Benzene prices fell across all markets globally last week. In Europe they mainly dipped due to decline in downstream product prices and sluggish demand from overseas markets.

In Korea, prices went down last week due to lower Benzene prices in US. In the early days of the week, prices were at US$ 1365/ton, same as compared to the same period of its previous week. However towards the end of the week, they declined in the range of US$ 1335-1370/ton FOB Korea.

In Japan and India, prices showed similar trend as in Korea last week. Spot prices were in the range of US$ 1340-1375/ton CFR Japan. In India, prices were spotted in the range of US$ 1345-1380/ton CFR India.

In Europe, in the initial days of last week, prices were at US$ 1455/ton, lower by US$ 30/ton as compared to the same period of the previous week. Prices were spotted in the range of US$ 1455-1485/ton FOB Rotterdam during the week.

In US, prices showed downward trend last week and were assessed in the range of 490-505 (cents/gallon) FOB US.
