PX prices dip in Asia last week from improved availability

In Korea and SE Asia, Paraxylene (PX) prices went down last week due to improved product availability in the region coupled with lower feedstock prices.

Prices opened at US$ 1390/ton FOB Korea, lower by US$ 80/ton last week as compared to the same period of its previous week and during the week were spotted at US$ 1370-1415/ton FOB Korea as compared to US$ 1390-1480/ton in its previous week.

PX prices were assessed at US$ 1360/ton in South Korea, yesterday.

In S.E. Asia, PX prices showed similar trend as Korea last week. In the initial days of last week, prices were at US$ 1415/ton, lower by US$ 80/ton as compared to the same period of its previous week.

During last week, prices hovered in the range of US$ 1395-1435/ton (CFR S.E. Asia) as compared to US$ 1415-1505/ton its previous week.

Prices were assessed at US$ 1380/ton in S.E. Asia, yesterday.
