Strong demand pushes up Asian ethylene trends this week

Asian ethylene prices bucked the downtrend in prices of other petrochemicals and rose during this week, mainly due to firm market sentiments and strong downstream demand coupled with bullish buying sentiments.

In Korean market, prices went up by 0.67% and were assessed in the range of US$ 1480/ton to US$ 1485/ton in the week ending Sept 12, compared to US$ 1495/ton in the previous week ending Sept 6.

In Japan, ethylene prices also rose and were quoted in the range of US$ 1460/ton to US$ 1465/ton this week against US$ 1460/ton in its previous week.

In Indian market, prices increased by 0.33% and were offered in the range of US$ 1500/ton to US$ 1505/ton in the week under preview vis-à-vis US$ 1495/ton to US$ 1500/ton in week ending Sept 6.

In S E Asia, prices grew 0.33% and were priced in the range of US$ 1500/ton to US$ 1505/ton this week versus US$ 1495/ton to US$ 1500/ton in its previous week.
