European benzene prices showed mixed trend this week by falling on the second day of the week, staying stable on Wednesday and surging on Thursday.

Prices remained stable at US$ 1280/ton on Wednesday. However they surged by US$ 60/ton or 4.69 percent on Thursday and were assessed at US$ 1340/ton yesterday.
Experts attributed the surge to high short-covering action coupled with limited product availability in the region.
