Nippon Shokubai’s ethylene oxide (EO) plant at Chidori, Japan, is likely to resume production post-maintenance next week.

“The EO plant was shut for maintenance turnaround from August 15 to September 21, 2014,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The EO plant has an annual capacity to produce 110,000 tons of monoethylene glycol (MEG) and 160,000 tons of EO.

“Nippon Shokubai also has an EO plant at Ukishima in Japan, which is currently operating at 100% operating rate,” the official further informed.

The Ukishima plant has same production capacity as that of Chidori plant.
