Ethylene prices surged in Europe in the last week ending Feb 14; however they went down marginally in US.

Prices went up in Europe due to higher upstream energy prices coupled with strong downstream demand and tight product availability in the region.

Average European prices went up by 6.15 per cent and were quoted at US$ 830/ton in the last week, as compared to US$ 780/ton in its previous week ending Feb 7.

In the US, average prices were at 34.95 cents/pound in the last week, down from 36.30 cents/pound in its previous week.
