Asian ethylene climbs from high upstream prices last week

Ethylene prices climbed up in Asia in the last week ending Feb 20 due to gain in upstream energy prices coupled with high upstream product prices in the region.

In Korea, average prices went up by US$ 30/ton or 3.43 per cent and were quoted at US$ 905/ton last week, as compared to its previous week.

In Japan, average prices expanded by US$ 30/ton and were assessed at US$ 895/ton last week, up 3.47 per cent from its previous week.

In SE Asia too, average prices rose by US$ 45/ton and were spotted at US$ 950/ton last week as against its previous week, an increase of 4.97 per cent.

In NE Asia also, average prices grew by US$ 30/ton or 3.26 per cent from its previous week and were offered at US$ 950/ton last week.

In India, average prices also ascended by US$ 45/ton or 4.97 per cent and were quoted at US$ 950/ton last week, as compared to its previous week.
