Maruzen Petrochemical is likely to restart its Chiba, Japan-based naphtha cracker very soon after an unexpected shut down earlier this month.

“The naphtha cracker is likely to restart on 11 March, 2015,” a company official told fibre2fashion.com.

“The naphtha cracker was shut down on 2 March, 2015 due to some technical issue,” the official said.

The naphtha cracker has capacity to produce 520,000 tons of ethylene per year.

Maruzen Petrochemical is engaged in import, export, production, processing and sales of ethylene, propylene, benzene and other basic petrochemical products, methyl ethyl ketone and other solvents, polyparavinyl phenol and other new materials.
