Asian PTA plunges last week from weak upstream prices

PTA prices plunged in Asia in the last week ended July 10 from weak upstream energy prices in the region.

In FE Asia, average prices dropped by US$ 45/ton or 6.29 per cent and were assessed at US$ 670/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In SE Asia, average prices dipped by US$ 45/ton and were quoted at US$ 690/ton in the last week, down 6.12 per cent as against its previous week.

In India, average prices declined by US$ 45/ton and were offered at US$ 700/ton in the last week, a decrease of 6.04 per cent from its previous week.

In China, average prices decreased by US$ 40/ton or 5.59 per cent from its previous week and were spotted at US$ 675/ton in the last week.
