Asian ethylene plunges last week from weak demand

Ethylene prices plunged in Asia in the last week ended July 17 from weak downstream product demand in the region.

In Korea, average prices reduced by US$ 70/ton or 5.53 per cent and were assessed at US$ 1195/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In Japan, average prices slipped by US$ 70/ton and were spotted at US$ 1185/ton in the last week, down 5.58 per cent from its previous week.

In SE Asia, average prices contracted by US$ 90/ton and were offered at US$ 1135/ton in the last week, a decrease of 7.35 per cent as against its previous week.

In NE Asia, average prices went down by US$ 60/ton or 4.76 per cent from its previous week and were quoted at US$ 1200/ton in the last week.

In India, average prices fell by US$ 90/ton and were assessed at US$ 1135/ton in the last week, down 7.35 per cent as compared to its previous week.
