Asian ethylene plunges last week from weak upstream prices

Ethylene prices plunged in Asia in the last week ended August 7 from weak upstream product prices in the region.

In Korea, average prices dropped down by US$ 65/ton or 5.78 per cent and were assessed at US$ 1060/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In Japan, average prices dipped by US$ 65/ton and were quoted at US$ 1050/ton in the last week, down 5.83 per cent from its previous week.

In SE Asia, average prices declined by US$ 55/ton and were offered at US$ 1010/ton in the last week, a decrease of 5.16 per cent as against its previous week.

In NE Asia, average prices decreased by US$ 55/ton or 4.80 per cent from its earlier week and were spotted at US$ 1090/ton in the last week.

In India, average prices were down by US$ 55/ton and were assessed at US$ 1010/ton in the last week, down 5.16 per cent as compared to its previous week.
