Petrovietnam signs MoU on cooperation with Petronas

Vietnam's state-owned oil and gas group Petrovietnam has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Malaysia-based Petronas for oil and gas exploration activities at Block PM3 –CAA.
 
The MoU was signed last week by Petrovietnam president & CEO Nguyen Quoc Khanh and Petronas president  Datuk Wan Zulkiflee  in the presence of Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Thai counterpart Najib Rajak, last week.
 
According to the MoU, both companies would support each other in the investment projects in Vietnam and Malaysia, Petrovietnam said on its website.
 
On the same day, a MoU on cooperation and working principles to search opportunities and provide drilling rig to Phu Quoc POC was signed between PV Drilling and Sapura Kennaca Drilling Company.
 
Zulkiflee thanked Prime Minister Dung and Vietnamese delegates for meeting Petronas and presented some issues on cooperation between Petronas and Petrovietnam. He also expressed gratitude to the Government of Vietnam for facilitating Petronas' investment in Vietnam and expected to receive further support from the Government of Vietnam and Petrovietnam.
 
Dung highly appreciated Petronas' cooperation with Petrovietnam over the past 20 years, which he said clearly shows comprehensive cooperation between the two. Fully supporting the plans for cooperation between Petronas and Petrovietnam, he suggested further extension of oil and gas exploration and production in Vietnam, Malaysia and third countries.
