Asian ethylene plunges from weak upstream prices last week

Ethylene prices plunged in Asia in the last week ended August 14 from weak upstream energy prices in the region.

In Korea, average prices decreased by US$ 50/ton or 4.72 per cent and were assessed at US$ 1010/ton in the last week, as compared to previous week.

In Japan, average prices dropped by US$ 50/ton and were quoted at US$ 1000/ton in the last week, down 4.76 per cent as against its prior week.

In SE Asia, average prices declined by US$ 75/ton and were offered at US$ 935/ton in the last week, a decrease of 7.43 per cent from its earlier week.

In NE Asia, average prices dipped by US$ 85/ton or 7.80 per cent from its previous week and were spotted at US$ 1005/ton in the last week.

In India, average prices went down by US$ 75/ton and were assessed at US$ 935/ton in the last week, down 7.43 per cent versus its earlier week.
