PTA prices fall in Asia from lower upstream on Monday

The prices of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) fell in Asian markets on Monday (August 17) owing to lower upstream product prices and a decline in other polyester feedstock prices.

In Far East Asia, PTA prices were quoted at US$ 585/ton, which were lower by US$ 5/ton compared to the prices at the end of the last week (August 14).

In Southeast Asia, prices were assessed at US$ 605/ton, also lower by US$ 5/ton vis-à-vis the prices at the end of the last week.

In India too, prices declined by US$ 5/ton and were assessed at US$ 610/ton. (RKS)
