Driven by poor demand Asian PTA prices fall last week

Driven by poor downstream product demand in the region, Asian PTA prices fell in the last week ended August 21.

In FE Asia, average prices went down by US$ 25/ton or 4.13 per cent and were assessed at US$ 580/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In SE Asia, average prices climbed down by US$ 25/ton and were quoted at US$ 600/ton in the last week, down 4.00 per cent as against its prior week.

In India, average prices contracted by US$ 25/ton and were offered at US$ 605/ton in the last week, a decrease of 3.97 per cent vis-à-vis its earlier week.

In China, average prices slipped by US$ 30/ton or 4.92 per cent from its preceding week and were spotted at US$ 580/ton in the last week.
