Sluggish buying drives down Asian MEG price last week

Lower upstream product prices, fall in other polyester feedstock prices and sluggish buying trends in the region drove down Asian MEG price in the last week ended August 29.

In SE Asia, average prices went down by US$ 53/ton or 7.36 per cent and were assessed at US$ 667/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In India, average prices dipped by US$ 53/ton and were quoted at US$ 667/ton in the last week, down 7.36 per cent as against its prior week.

In China, average prices decreased by US$ 67/ton and were spotted at US$ 663/ton in the last week, a massive a decline of 9.18 per cent versus its earlier week.
