Borealis is pleased to announce that IMCD, a global provider of specialty chemicals and ingredients, is now its official distribution partner for the Bormed portfolio in the Americas.
Effective August 1, 2025, the agreement covers the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, significantly expanding access to Borealis’ dedicated healthcare polyolefins in the region.
The partnership covers the full Bormed portfolio—a range of specialized polyethylene and polypropylene grades developed for use in medical devices, pharmaceutical packaging, and diagnostic applications. These materials are suitable for a wide range of processing technologies, including injection molding for the medical device and diagnostic market. Backed by decades of healthcare experience, the portfolio is built on the core principles of the Bormed Concept: service, commitment, and conformance.
“Expanding our partnership with IMCD to the Americas is an important step in our We4Customers strategy. It strengthens our presence in the region and ensures that the Bormed portfolio is represented by a partner with the expertise and reach to serve this critical market.”
Paulo Cavacas, Borealis Head of Marketing Advanced Products
IMCD brings extensive knowledge of polyolefins for healthcare applications and a well-established infrastructure across the covered markets. This new agreement builds on a successful partnership established in 2021, when IMCD became Borealis’ Bormed distributor in most European markets. By extending that model to the Americas, Borealis and IMCD demonstrate their shared commitment to meeting the global healthcare industry’s demand for reliable supply, regulatory compliance, and continuous innovation.
“We’re proud to expand our collaboration with Borealis and bring the Bormed portfolio to customers across the Americas. This partnership will allow us to support customers with high-quality materials, technical guidance, and reliable local service—everything needed to meet the strict regulatory and performance demands of the healthcare sector.”
