Reliance, India’s largest player in the polyester value chain, has decreased the prices of polyester staple fibre (PSF). The prices will come down from ₹107 to ₹105 per kg with effect from November 1. The company had earlier revised prices of purified terephthalic acid (PTA), Monoethylene glycol (MEG) and MELT downward. The Indian market of polyester value chain follows the prices.

Reliance had followed the same trend last week. The company reviews global market, price trends in China and fluctuations in crude oil to determine prices of polyester raw materials. According to market sources, RIL has cut PSF prices by ₹2 per kg.

The company reviews prices of PSF on fortnightly basis but takes stocks of raw materials every week. Earlier, the company had fixed PTA price at ₹81.70 per kg (-2.20), MEG at ₹52.90 per kg (-1.20) and MELT at ₹88.25 per kg (-2.30).
