Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), India’s largest player in polyester value chain, has increased prices of purified terephthalic acid (PTA), monoethylene glycol (MEG) and MELT. It had decreased prices of MEG and MELT last week. The company had revised polyester staple fibre (PSF) prices upward by ₹3 per kg to ₹107 per kg for this fortnight.

The market takes cue from the prices of RIL, which reviews global market conditions, price trend in China and fluctuation in crude oil prices to determine prices of polyester raw materials.

According to the market sources, RIL fixed PTA price at ₹87.80 per kg (+3.70), MEG at ₹56.20 per kg (+0.20) and MELT at ₹94.82 per kg (+3.25). New pricing of polyester raw materials will come into effect from this Saturday. RIL reviews PSF prices every fortnight.
