  • Reliance has altered the pricing for polyester raw materials, reducing the costs of PTA and MELT, while keeping MEG prices the same.
  • The new prices will be PTA at ₹86.70 per kg, MEG at ₹51.80 per kg, and MELT at ₹93.17 per kg.
  • These changes will come into effect from the coming Saturday.
  • Additionally, RIL increased PSF prices by ₹1 to ₹107 per kg.
Reliance, India's largest player in the polyester value chain, has reduced the prices of raw materials for polyester staple fibre (PSF). It has cut the prices of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and MELT for the coming week, but the prices of monoethylene glycol (MEG) were kept unchanged. Last week, the company raised the prices of PTA and MELT but kept MEG prices the same.

According to market sources, RIL fixed prices as PTA at ₹86.70 per kg (a decrease of ₹1.30), MEG at ₹51.80 per kg (unchanged), and MELT at ₹93.17 per kg (a decrease of ₹1.12). The new pricing for polyester raw materials will come into effect from the coming Saturday.

RIL increased PSF prices again by ₹1 to ₹107 per kg. This was a mid-fortnight revision after an increase of ₹2 per kg before the current fortnight. Traders have said that RIL revised PSF prices upwards to align with the earlier increase in PTA and MELT.
